Are you or someone in your family a member of our armed forces? Are you looking for some inexpensive ways to entertain your family this summer? Have you heard about the Blue Star Museum program?
The Blue Star Museum program offers free admission for active duty military personnel, including National Guard, Reserve and their families. In past years the program has kicked off on Memorial Day weekend. However, this year it began on Armed Forces Day, May 18, and will run until Labor Day each year. More than 2,000 museums across America are participating in this program that began in 2010. To find out about eligibility please click here.
We have two participating museums in the Jackson area: The Mississippi Children's Museum, and Eudora Welty House and Garden.
